Simply Stampin' Challenge - Sketch Week

I had a few attempts at this weeks entry for the Simply Stampin Challenge but eventually settled on the above card. I really enjoy the Sketch Challenges as it makes me think a bit more about the layout (I normally stick to asquare in the middle which gets a bit boring after a while).

It hasn't photographed very well (think I need to practice more!) and you can't see the versamark snowflakes on the backing card which doesn't help!!! (Any tips anyone?)

I purchased my Dasher stamp last year and love him. Wasn't going to bring him out this year as he featured on all my cards last year but couldn't resist as he's so lovely to play with. I stamped him in Bravo Burgandy and then glittered his antlers with some bronze glitter from my stash and used Dazzling Diamonds for the snowflakes and to add some 'snow' to his feet.

Think I may have to make a few of these to hand out over the Christmas period - once my new tape pens arrive. I had to resort to wet glue and it made the card buckle slightly but having used up everything else it was a last resort!

Mr and Mrs King's Wedding

Morning,

Been a few weeks since my last update. I have been crafting but between finishing work and trying to get everything finished for a friends wedding it's been a bit hectic (not to mention prepping everything for the arrival of baby!!!).

Anyway, the wedding was on Saturday and below are some pictures of all my hard work of the last couple of months:

Hopefully some more pictures to follow but at a loose end today so decided to share a couple now!

Fingers crossed for another update this afternoon - I've made a card for the Simply Stampin' Challenge this week but need some decent light before I attempt to take a picture . . .

Simply Stampin Sketch Challenge

Morning All,

Apologies for this being a short update but been a hectic week and I leave for work in about 10 minutes - on the positive side I have almost completed the Wedding Stationery for my friends wedding (table names and plan only things to do!).

I checked out the Simply Stampin' Challenge at the weekend and decided to make a Wedding Card for above friend using the sketch challenge issued.

The colour is Elegant Eggplant (and is the colour theme for the Wedding Stationery so ties in nicely) and the sentiment is from'So Happy For You' stamp set.

Off to work now.

My Crafting Week and Christmas Cards

Hi All,

Been busy this week trying to finish the Wedding Stationery for my friend (which basically involves cutting lots of different coloured card to the right size). So far I've managed to assemble the favour tags - just need to punch a hole in all 83 of them for the ribbon to go through. Everything else has been cut and folded, just need the final go ahead on the wording before I finish. Shall upload some pictures once everythings completed but definitely a labour of love.

Attempted to create some canvas art for my dining area, but not too happy with the result. Got a few ideas on how to improve this running round my head so just need to decide what to do with them next. In case you're interested, here's how they look so far:

On the plus side, I've started to design my Christmas Cards (Stampin Up order turned up on Wednesday but didn't really get chance to start playing until today). I have two different versions so far and I like them both so far but they aren't quite the finished product. Need to either purchase or borrow some framelits to mount the sentiments correctly and the one on the left needs some sparkle adding down the bottom:

Fingers crossed this time next week I'll have finished the Wedding Stationery (other than the Table Plan, but as I don't have the seating plan yet can't really do much with this at the moment) and possibly knitted a baby cardigan but the patterns thrown me so this may be wishful thinking. Speaking of baby, started to decorate the nursery yesterday. Seven weeks left until due date and can't quite believe we've left in this late!!!

Thanks for reading.

Simply Stampin Challenge - Sketch Week

Me again.

I've been meaning to start taking part in challenges for a while now and yesterday morning decided to check in on the Challenge over at Simply Stampin' Challenge and before I knew it had come up with the below design:

Due to husband hogging the laptop all day yesterday, I couldn't get my blog started until today (he's working) and feeling inspired ended up making a set of 10 cards in different colours along with a box to put them all in to form part of a Christmas present for my Nan. (This year will be a homemade christmas!)

Thanks for the inspiration!

Stampin Up Products Used (everything else found in my stash!)
Stamp Sets - Sprinkled Expressions and Force & Espoir (I ordered the set in French and love it)
Card Stock - Rose Red, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist
Ink Pads - Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist and Bashful Blue

And we're off . . .

Hi all!!!

Welcome to my first ever post. Hoping to post again later today, but thought I'd tell you a bit about myself.

I've been crafting for a few years now and really got started when I married my wonderful husband in December 2010 - I designed and made my own Wedding Stationary and caught the bug big time (aided by my wonderful mother-in-law who continues to inspire my crafting).

Since then I've gained a craft room, have discovered a love of all things Stampin Up (if you haven't and are based in Berkshire/Hampshire area pop on over to craftyclairybell's blog), am half way through my first commission for Wedding Stationary and baby number one is due early November. My biggest challenge is taking on too many projects at once - I'm currently knitting a baby cardigan, crocheting snowflakes, making felt Scandinavian inspired Christmas decorations, on top of trying to design my Christmas Cards and finish the Wedding commission (everything is prepped, just waiting for mr postman to arrive with some essentials before I can continue). . . I feel exhausted just thinking about it! Did I mention that I'm still working full time at the moment as well? Roll on maternity leave is all I can say.
